Panama offers two popular answers to the question of where to live: the energy of the capital, or the slower pace of the Pacific coast. They are a drive apart, but they feel like different countries.
Panama City: the connected choice
- Modern towers with views, amenities and security
- Restaurants, healthcare, international schools and business districts
- Tocumen International Airport, with direct flights across the Americas and beyond
The Pacific Coast: the slower choice
- Beachfront homes and resort communities
- Golf, marinas and long weekends by the sea
- Space, privacy and a quieter day-to-day
Choosing between them
Think about how you will use the home. Full-time residents often prefer the city for its services; second-home owners and retirees often choose the coast. Many buyers end up with both, an apartment in the capital and a retreat by the beach.
Spend a week in each before you decide. The right place usually becomes obvious.
Tell your advisor how you live today and how you want to live in five years, and the shortlist will follow.
